Dr. Shripad Markande, M.Sc. (Mathematics), Ph.D

Dr. Shripad Markande is a renowned Mathematician. He did his M.Sc. (Mathematics) at Karnataka University, Dharwad. and Ph.D. from Bangalore University. His area of specialization is Fluid Dynamics. He has got teaching experience of 28 years and research experience of 20 years. He has published several research papers in national and international reputed journals. He has presented research papers at various national and international conferences in India and abroad. He has organized many National and International Conferences. He has refereed many Papers and Thesis. He gave invited talks in many conferences/FDP. He is currently Vice President of a research organization Indian Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (ISTAM), one of the premiere research organizations of India.

He has got rich experience of administrative positions like Dean Academics, Dean Student Welfare, Controller of Examinations etc. at various Private Universities across India.

Prof. (CAPT) A. Nagaraj Subbarao is a Master Mariner with specializations in Navigation, Dredging Technology, and Harbour Engineering and followed it up with a MBA and M.Phil. in Human Resource Management. The last twenty-five years have witnessed an explosion in the field of leadership education. As a sea captain, he has ledmultinational teams in adverse conditions all over the world and has a deep understanding of leadership, team dynamics, and organizational culture.

Prof. (CAPT) Nagaraj started his career with the Merchant Navy as a navigating officer and has worked with international firms like the Dredging Corporation of India Ltd, Van Oord- The Netherlands, The Detlef Hegemann Group – Germany, incommand of highly specialized and state of the art ships. He has worked on internationally acclaimed marine engineering projects like the ‘Palm Islands’ and the ‘World’, off the Dubai Coast and several other harbour engineering projects across the world.

Prof. (CAPT) Nagaraj co-founded a Marine Consultancy and has been a Marine & Harbour Engineering Consultant in areas of harbour engineering, ship inspection, ship repairs and training and development over the last several years before turning to academics. He also consults with industry in the areas of organizational culture and values and has consulted with Multi-National Corporations in building an enabling culture. Prof. Nagaraj Subbarao on invitation researched and contributed towards a white paper for the Govt. of India on future man-power needs in the Dredging Industry.

He has wide international experience in areas of Human Resource Management and besides being a navigator and sea captain, has also dealt with various aspects of ship administration, marine security and safety, both on and off ships, as part of the International Ship and Port Security Code. He is also a certified internal auditor for the Safety Management System (SMS) of the International Management Code for the Safe Operation of Ships and for Pollution Prevention as well as a certified quality auditor for ISO 9001:2008.

Professor Nagaraj Subbarao has been an academician over the last decade and as Professor in the area of Organization Behaviour & Human Resource Management, his interest lies in Human Resource Management, Organization Behaviour and Development and International HR and Cross Cultural Management. He has several publications in the area of Cognitive Psychology, Organization Development, and International HR and has attended national and international conferences. He has been closely associated with Alliance University’s executive education program as Program Director and has been instrumental in establishing executive education as a formidable strategic business unit.

He has trained executives in industries like Akzo Nobel, The Dredging Corporation of India, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, The UB group, Bosch, Sterling Labs, IFB limited, WEG Industries and the Indian Armed Forces in managerial practice.

Prof. Nagaraj Subbarao is a keen sportsman and has played cricket and table tennis at the junior national level. He enjoys long rambling walks and reading new developments in management and Indian history.


Organization Development, International HR and Decision Making

Dr. C. S. Ramesh, B.E., M.E., Ph.D

Dr.C.S.Ramesh obtained his PhD in Metallurgical Engineering with academic distinction from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, Chennai, India in 1992 in the area of Composite coatings with Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from U.V.C.E, Bangalore and Masters in Metal Casting from Bangalore University.

He has over 22 years of experience in teaching and research. His current research interests are Thermal spray coatings, Metal matrix Composites, Finite Element methods related to Bio- implants.

Being passionate about research , he has executed projects of national and international importance funded by several government and private agencies such as Naval research Board, Aeronautical Research Board, Combat Vehichles Research & Development Establishment, Department of Science & Technology, Indian Space Research Organisation, GE- India, Allegion, BHEL, AICTE. The total project value executed by him is close to Two Crores. A state of art facilities in Rapid Prototyping, Metal forming, Tribology , Thermal Spray & CAE has been set up by him at PESIT, Bangalore. These facilities have enabled his group of researchers to regularly publish papers in most reputed refereed International, National Journals and Conferences. He has contributed over 150 papers in International, National Journals & Conferences, 05 Book chapters and authored 06 Technical reports. He has to his credit guided 14 PhDs and over 50 Post graduate students.

Recognising the research activities, Govt. Of Karnataka has conferred with Professor Satish Dhawan Award for Young Engineers for Outstanding Contribution to Engineering Science-2008.

Recieved Best Research Publication Award by Vision Group of Science & Technology, Karnataka 2010 and Sudharshan Bhat Award from I.I.T. Madras, 1992 for Best PhD thesis. Under Fusion Fund International Exchange Programme Prof. Ramesh was Visiting Professor at School of Design, Engineering & Computing, Bournemouth University, UK (2012). Currently working on joint research project on composite coatings with Dr.Zulfiqar Khan of Bournemouth university.

He is co-Recipient of STINT International grants awarded to Prof.Per Nylen, University West, Sweden under which Dr.Ramesh visited University West in May 2014 to initiate collaborative research on thermal spraying.
