The Department of performing arts is formed with the idea of passing on to the young generation the true spirit of art and culture. The department offers program in the South Indian Classical Dance styles and Music. We prepare artistes who are passionate in acquiring in its real spirit and taking it forward to achieve their dreams of being quality performers.


Alliance repertory team

Alliance repertory team is formed for performing group works of Indian Classical Dance and Music in India. The repertoire of the company includes Classical and Contemporary Bharathanatyam, Kuchipudi Mohiniyattom compositions, also trains and programs the students in various Folk dances of India. This program also focuses the idea of brushing the choreography and performance skills of the students.

Natana (Basic program)

This program is designed for the beginners .The course duration will be for 6 months and the package includes the elementary basic lessons in the practical and theory. The styles taught will be BharathanatyaM, Kuchipudi and Mohiniyattom by the expertise in the respective fields.

Keerthana (Intermediate program)

This 6 months package is designed for those who have received their initial training in the mentioned classical styles. Advanced basics, a few numbers from the repertoire and music lessons will be taught to the students. The students will also be prepared to perform for the events which will help them cultivate confidence and enhance their performance skills.

Praiti (Advanced program)

This is an advanced program for 12 months and we recommend students who have received initial training in the respective styles for over 4 years. Choreography sessions, numbers from the repertoire (1 Margam), nattuvangom lessons, classes on abhinaya, outreach programs (Conducted by the university) will be the highlights of the course. A must do course for those who want to enhance their performance ability and learn a little more from so far.



A beginner’s certificate course for a duration of 6 months . The student will be taught the basic foundation for Carnatic classical music and the musical forms.

Manodharma Sangeetham

Advanced course that begins with introduction to improvised classical music. A student with minimum 4 years intense music training will be eligible . Techniques of swarakalpana and Niraval, stages of raga alaapana will be explored.

Post Pallavi Course

The beauty and aesthetics of the post-pallavi repertoire of a Carnatic performance will be focused. . A mixed bouquet will include compositions of saint composers of North and south India such as Thillana, Abhang, Bhajan, Tevaram, Tirupugazh, Thiruppavai,Viruttam , Devarnama, and Vachana will be studied.

Ragam Tanam Pallavi

The advanced course will include a detail technique of rendering ragam, tanam. The pallavi as a musical form with concepts that govern pallavi singing.A student who has undergone intense music training and ability to sing manodharma sangeetham is a prerequisite.
